Differentiation with Technology

  To effectively teach 3rd grade students about fractions, incorporating a variety of technologies can help accommodate different learning styles, foster engagement, and support deeper understanding. Display visual fraction models (like pie charts or bar models) and demonstrate fraction games or videos. This allows for hands-on manipulation of digital objects (e.g., dragging parts of a whole), helping students visually grasp the concept of parts of a whole and equivalent fractions. Display and model how to use physical fraction manipulatives (e.g., fraction tiles, circles) to the whole class. To help bridge concrete and visual learning, students can also share their work with the class for peer learning. Conduct formative assessments through quizzes or interactive games.
